July 2022 - The installation of the Redkite Training and Competence Management System to Auckland International Airport (AKL)

Really pleased to report that following a very protracted competitive tendering process ( Covid 19 causing a 30 month delay) Redkite Systems have commenced the installation of the Redkite Training and Competence Management System to Auckland International Airport (AKL). It is planned that the project will involve linking up with my good friend Peter McMahon again through his SCORM based training packages delivered via Qual E-Fire. The new integrated Training and Competence Management System will provide a powerful tool for any airport RFFS around the world looking to implement a training and competence management system combining every possible aspect of training.

Training is the key to success and training that leads to the development and maintenance of competence is the best training of all.

Will be posting more about this fantastic development and maybe even giving a live demo at our next User Group Day being planned for Dec 8th and 9th 2022... more details on this as soon as it has been finalised in the next week or so.

Redkite Systems is pleased to announce that Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service (WFRS) have taken delivery of a new Incident Command Module.
The Incident Command module has been developed in consultation with WFRS and will meet the need expressed in the National Guidance for Incident Commanders that Incident Commanders should be recording that they have operated in an Incident Command role at either real or simulated incidents. The module allows individuals to record their role, at which level, the type of activity and the length of time in the role.

This detail can be used to support their continuing professional development (CPD) and maintenance of competence.

The new module is very easy to use and integrates seamlessly into the Redkite Competence Management System.

In built flexibility means it can be used to record ICS roles as well as any CPD activity.

December 2021 - Airports continue working hard to ensure their ARFFS personnel maintain their competence and ensure that equipment is safe to use.

Despite the impact of Covid 19 on airports around the world our systems reveal that airports have been working hard to ensure their ARFFS personnel maintain their competence and ensure that equipment is safe to use.

In the period Jan 2021 to date 6,760 users have undertaken 287,740 on-line assessments linked to e-learning packages (an 11% increase on the year 2020 / 2021) and the outcomes from these assessments have automatically updated the knowledge requirements of relevant competence frameworks.

These figures compare with 258 users undertaking 9604 on-line assessments in 2010 when the system was first widely introduced.

In addition to e-learning / assessments, 1,832,745 practical training updates automatically updating the relevant competence framework were also recorded.

On the Asset Management system we found that 5,253 users have recorded 2,892,725 tests on equipment (an increase of 6%). In total over 36,000,000 tests have been recorded on the systems since it was introduced into Warwickshire FRS in the year 2000.

To me, these figures represent a tremendous commitment from our users to ensure both the maintenance of competence and the operational readiness of their assets/equipment even under extremely difficult circumstances.

We thank all our customers for their continued support and usage of our systems.

July 2021 - Business continuity and cyber security.

With the travel sector looking like it might get some traction at long last and with many clients in other sectors to support , Redkite Systems has been investing in improving the dedicated, secure hosting facilities through which we supply our systems to the majority of our clients.
We have strengthened the server security to prevent cyber intrusions and attacks by deploying Armor Anywhere - a cybersecurity protection package deployed by many large global organisations.
We have also installed a new secondary server which is a duplicate of our primary server in all details. The secondary server resides in a different secure data centre from our primary server and log shipping between the two servers keeps the data on both servers in sync so that in the event that our primary server fails for whatever reason, we can switch to the secondary server within minutes of the problem being detected. These upgrades have been a major investment to improve the quality and security of service we at Redkite Systems provide and we are pleased to inform our ckients that we are providing these additional features at no additional cost.

June 2020 - Changi Airport Group update

It is less than twelve months since Changi Airport Group went operational with the Redkite Competence Management System which is now used on a daily basis throughout CAG AES - 500+ personnel at 8 aerodromes throughout Singapore: four military, one helicopter base, a specialist Sea Rescue Base and two civilian airfields, including the world leading Changi International Airport.

Using Redkite, CAG AES has moved from a time consuming paper based training system to a fully automated, paperless, electronic maintenance of competence system using a competence framework, developed with the help of my good friend Peter NcMahon.

Redkite has empowered CAG AES to create customised role profiles to meet the varied competence requirements specific to the many roles at their mix of aerodromes and Redkite manages this complex array of refresher training and workplace assessment reminders to ensure competence is maintained.

Redkite also manages the  delivery of over 120 focussed e-learning packages to match profiles of groups and individuals throughout CAG AES.

Roll out of the Redkite E-Log will commence to over 55 MOD sites throughout the UK and overseas in June and will integrate with, and complement, the newly introduced Redkite Asset Management System and the Redkite Competence Management System which are now already fully operational throughout the service. As is normal with Redkite projects, all project timelines have been met and it has been a priviledge to have been involved in this very successful project. My thanks to all those involved at Capita and at Redkite Systems.

The next stage, hopefully, will be to introduce more Redkite modules to further enhance the system to the benefit of all.

Plenty of other interesting work undertaken during May; discussing new projects in the UK and overseas as well as developing new and enhanced modules, functions and features to continue to improve our portfolio of products.

March 2020 - Redkite Systems are pleased to announce the extension of their provision to Changi Airport Group AES.

Redkite Systems are pleased to announce the extension of their provision to Changi Airport Group AES to include a new module to house a large number of compliance questionnaires, which they term as AES Ratings.

The ratings, which can follow a practical assessment, are undertaken annually to ensure operational readiness of AES personnel in key areas.

The questions are categorized for each fire station, rank and resources and are held in question banks, selected and delivered by Redkite Question Master (part of the Redkite Competence Management System) in a random order. Assessments are automatically marked and graded and a record of all attempts is made. E-records are made available for sighting and verification for the processing of their various allowances.

CAG AES report: "The online rating system fits seamlessly into our competence framework held in the Redkite CMS and successfully rolled-out to all aerodromes and Airbases within CAG AES in Singapore, including Changi International Airport. We now have a one-stop portal for all operational compliances (training and ratings system).
