Redkite Asset Management System - Overview
If you are looking for an electronic asset management system that will track your assets and automate the management of scheduled and unscheduled preventative maintenance and safety checks , then look no further.
|
If you want to save time and money by reducing asset downtime, prolonging the operational life of your assets and ensuring assets are safe to use, then the Redkite Asset Management System is ideal for your needs.
A rigorous management regime will ensure that your assets get maintained, tested and inspected regularly and, once initiated, the Redkite Asset Management System will manage these routine activities automatically
Easy to use – Update in 3-clicks. |
On initial log-in your personal e-dashboard is displayed showing what needs to be done today and the status of your assets. The e-dashboard is usually customised to show only what is relevant to the user’s location(s) and, via seamless integration with the Redkite Competence Management System, skill level(s) or role. Clicking on the details button underneath each area will reveal more details.
Manual update of maintenance and safety check is quick and easy. |
Manual update of maintenance and safety check is quick and easy.
Click the Tests due / overdue Details link to reveal all maintenance and safety checks due today, including any that have not yet been undertaken.
Click an item in this list to go through to the maintenance and safety check update screen. Here the outcomes of the activity, together with any readings and other information, including documents and pictures, can be entered. This will complete the manual entry.
On updating records, maintenance and test cycles are automatically advanced and, where a fault is reported, responsible personnel are notified by email automatically and immediately.
Hi-speed data capture using bar-code and RFID |
Where fitted, daily maintenance and safety check work lists are delivered electronically to remote bar code and RFID readers. Bar codes and RFID provide proof positive that an asset has been visited, automatically recording the date and time of the visit.
Outcomes of maintenance and safety checks are entered directly onto the reader and are uploaded to the central system in real-time so, if you are called away for any reason, nothing is lost – just pick up where you left off.
As with the main system, on updating records, maintenance and test cycles are advanced and, where a fault is reported, responsible personnel are notified by email automatically and immediately.
Inventory check lists are delivered to a reader electronically allowing hi-speed multiread inventory checks to be carried out using the latest Redkite RFID Companion software with reported time savings of over 90%. Ideal for sorting out assets after a major incident. Quick, simple and effective.
Comprehensive Asset Register |
The Asset Register is at the heart of the Redkite Asset Management System. It contains a wealth of information on each asset. The hierarchical structure allows you to define ‘classes’ of assets, with types of asset belonging to each class and then details of every asset within of a specific type.
Unique asset identifiers whether visual, bar code or RFID ensure that you can track your assets throughout their life cycle.
An asset can be a location for other assets providing a parent / child relationship. For example: a vehicle can be an asset but also a location for other assets. Assets can be assigned to locations, other assets or people and can either be fixed or floating.
Each type of asset will carry its own set of preventative maintenance and safety checks and there is no restriction to the number of these activities that can be applied to each type of asset.
You can create activity cycles based on time, distance, number of uses or just about anything else you can do. You can combine these into, say, every 3 months or 20 uses and set the day of the week or day of month the activity must be carried out, if required.
Life cycle end dates and replacement costs can be added, and the extensive ‘life-long’ history contains full details of all activities carried out on an asset, including the type of activity, the date and outcome of the activity, who carried out the activity, details of any defects, parts replaced, etc. with links to any pictures or documents uploaded.
Your assets are valuable and when they need repairing or replacing you will want to keep track on where they are and be kept informed of progress. Effective defect management reduces downtime and helps prevent greater damage to your assets, optimising their operational life span.
The moment a defect is reported, responsible personnel are notified automatically by e-mail. E-mail progress reports are also sent by email at key stages.
The status of defects can be readily viewed – a quick link on the side bar takes you through to all areas of defect management.
On selecting Defects you will see the status of defects within your area of responsibility. Here you can use the ‘search facility’ to filter the information or click to view all to obtain a list and status of any defects found. Colour codes show the priority of each defect. Highlighting a defect on this list allows you to go straight to the defect report and work sheet to find out more detail or update as required.
In just three clicks you have access to all the information you need.
Quick, simple and effective.
Contains a raft of time saving management tools |
To help save time when carrying out repetitive tasks, the Redkite AMS has many in-built features to make your life easier.
‘Bulk Tasks’ provide a quick way to perform an activity on many assets.
For example, say, 20 BA sets have been delivered. You can ‘Bulk add’ these to the asset register, ‘bulk allocate’ to one or more locations or individuals and then ‘bulk initiate’ the activity cycle for maintenance or safety activities, quickly and easily.
Or you can ‘bulk import’ the results of safety tests or maintenance activities from an external contractor, for example. All features that will save you time.
Custom access for each user – allowing a wide range of access rights with customised views.

The reports, with both local and centralised views, provide a wide range of invaluable management information.

Trials in Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service and Mid and West Wales Fire and Rescue Service in the United Kingdom, have proven that in just a few seconds the Redkite RFID batch scan function will carry out an RFID inventory check, on a locker full of equipment in a single sweep of the RFID reader. This isn’t just a ‘one-off’. It happens locker after locker and in very short time a complete vehicle will be checked.
